The Dutch film and AV industry experienced a record number of theatrical releases in 2025, which worsened the competitive position of Dutch films. Major crowd-pullers were Voor de Meisjes by Mike van Diem and Amsterdamned II by Dick Maas. Total revenue remained stable, while the VOD market appears to be stabilizing after years of strong growth. Dutch filmmakers achieved international success: Nina Gantz won a BAFTA for Wander to Wonder and Victoria Warmerdam an Oscar for I'm Not a Robot. Total production volume declined, primarily due to fewer high-end series and lower output from minority co-productions.
