Hungary has lifted the temporary moratorium on applications for its production incentive program, allowing producers to once again submit unlimited applications starting July 1 for the 30% cash rebate on Hungarian production expenses, which effectively rises to 37.5% when certain non-Hungarian costs are factored in. State Secretary Ervin Nagy announced the measure as the beginning of a new chapter in cooperation with the film industry, emphasizing that the incentive pays for itself through a multiplier effect. The program, guaranteed by the National Film Institute and valid until 2030, previously attracted productions such as The Brutalist, Poor Things, and Alien: Romulus.
