TIFF: The Market has announced the first eight projects for its inaugural Innovation Hub, a program dedicated to XR, VR, and mixed-reality experiences taking place from September 10 to 16 in Toronto and presented by the Canada Media Fund. The selection, curated by a nine-member committee, includes works from nine countries, including world premieres of Mekwâc: "Now Is Good" by James Monkman Studio, Tartupaluk by Laakkuluk Williamson, and The Big Picture – "Lunch Atop A Skyscraper" by Chloé Rochereuil, as well as titles such as Interstellar Arc, Lesbian Simulator, Body Proxy, The Clouds Are Two Thousand Meters Up by Singing Chen, and Solwara. Located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the hub offers delegates Speakers' Summit Talks and panel discussions alongside installations.
