The European Audiovisual Observatory has published its annual report *Audiovisual Media Services in Europe*, in which Jean-Augustin Tran maps the audiovisual landscape of 27 EU member states and additional European territories based on December 2025 data. The total number of services grew by 5% to 13,570, while VoD services rose by 15% and television channels increased by only 1%. American companies own a quarter of all private television channels and dominate the ten largest television groups with 69%, whereas European companies represent 80% of the fifty largest VoD groups, underscoring the tension between national media ecosystems and the global concentration of market power.
