With Script fully developed and two of the main characters already cast - Ben Dover and Peter, our team is currently on the lookout for the the other two most essential roles - Marco and Grandpa Willy. Additionally we are on the lookout for a girl to play our protagonist's love interest - Megan.

NAME: Marco
ROLE: Main Cast, Reckless and childish, with out of the ballpark aspirations
CHARACTERISATION: Half-Italian, Half-Dutch, average height, dark hair, big nose, polo shirt, pants, boots
TRUE CHARACTER: Confused and scared, loyal (to Grandpa Willy), childish / spoiled, empathetic
BACKSTORY: Coming from an Upper Middle Class family in Italy, Marco had everything he ever wanted, except for a straightforward vision regarding his future. No passions or talents, average in everything he has done before since he grew up thinking everything would always be given to him. He had a lot of friends in his hometown. Used to visit Grandpa Willy as a kid, where he would hear all kinds of crazy stories. Having Grandpa Willy as his role model made his relationship with his dad very tense, as his dad never had a good relationship with Grandpa Willy (his father). When Marco goes to uni, he starts failing classes as uni requires more effort and dedication. This makes the situation with his dad even more tense and as the result of a big argument, Marco drops out, leaves home and goes to the NL to live with his grandpa. During a phase where Marco had been trying to see if he can be an actor he meets Ben at an audition and offers him to live with him and his grandpa
WHY DO WE CARE? Deep down Marco is a lovely person who, despite his way of being, has always helped everybody, including Ben, however he could. In return, he just needs to be appreciated for who he really is.
WHAT DO THEY WANT? To become like Grandpa Willy and to live according to the stories he grew up with.
WHY DO THEY WANT IT? To see Grandpa Willy proud of him. and above all else, To prove to his dad that he was wrong about him; find his calling
WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO LOSE? Having to face the potential reality that he’s just mediocre and no-good-for-anything.

NAME: Grandpa Willy
ROLE: Main cast, old, “slightly” demented, war veteran
CHARACTERISATION: +65 y/o, Dutch, bold / bolding, crooked, absent-minded, sweaters, regular pants and worn out shoes
TRUE CHARACTER: at times he suffers episodes of regret and disappointment regarding his life decisions. Usually has his head in the clouds, but tries his best to make Marco proud by staying strong and “cool”
BACKSTORY: from the trenches of Vietnam to the canals in Amsterdam, his life perceptions had changed forever. He understood how fragile life is and decided to live in the present, leaving his son unattended, abandoning the idea of a straightforward career and a financially secure household. Being a widower even before the war, he was forced into a life of complete emotional solitude. Furthermore, his son left for Italy to build a life of his own, leaving Grandpa Willy, entirely alone, thus making every visit from Marco special.
WHY DO WE CARE? He serves as a warning and a hard lesson for Marco to learn. His only desire is to make his grandson be proud of himself, not knowing that the sentiment is reciprocated.
WHAT DO THEY WANT? To guide Marco, despite his illness trying to slow him down, in order for his grandson to live a better life.
WHY DO THEY WANT IT? To make up for the mistakes he has made in the past.
WHAT DO THEY HAVE TO LOSE? Dying with a burden of many, many regrets and no legacy.
